In this time, we will initiate the work with ETABS software by setting out unit system, design codes, defining of material and section properties, defining of load patterns, and load combination. There after starting of modeling with modeling of columns, beams, slabs etc. In the end of this 2nd 60 minutes, we will assign the frame and shell loads.
3rd (60 Minutes)
In this last 60 minutes of this workshop, we will be making the model finally ready to go for analysis by checking all modeling errors and rectifying all that errors. Performing analysis and knowing stresses in each member and then performing design with ensuring that all the members passing the design checks. In the last of this 60 minute, we will give some bonus to all attenders of this workshop.
STEP - 01
Study about Architectural Drawing
Understanding of architectural drawing is the first step to proceed for the design of any proposed structure.
STEP - 02
Preliminary Sizing of All Elements
At the preliminary stage, it is needed to prepare structural framing plan for which it is needs to decide preliminary sizes of all structural elements as beams, columns, slabs shear wall etc.

STEP - 04
Initiating with FEM Based Software’s (i.e., CSI ETABS)
To initiate the projects in any FEM based software such as CSI ETABS, its needed to define all essentials as grids definition, material and section properties, unit system and code of design etc.
STEP - 05
Modeling in CSI ETABS
To have the idea about the response of structure under all the application of loading we need to create a model (Prototype) in software. The modeling will include modeling of columns, beams, slabs and shear wall etc.
STEP - 06
Analysis in CSI ETABS
After having model with all anticipated loads, it is needed to see what intensities of stresses (S.F, B.M, Torsion, Axial Force, etc.) are going to develop in each member. In respect of stresses developed, will plan to design that particular member.
STEP - 07
Design in CSI ETABS
Performing design in respect of particular design codes. Where it is needed to ensure all members are passing the design checks mean while it is also needed to optimized the design for economy as well as stability.
